I have an Adam registered on the 31march 2016.
It has on board the entertainment screen and the apps and I can link up my phone to the phonebook also I can make and receive calls through the car.
But in the manual book that comes with the Adam it says I can activate Android Auto through the phone and onto the cars screen but this is not happening.Android Auto does not show up on the cars screen.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Do you have Intellilink R4.0 as the R3.0 version lacks Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support?

I have a similar issue where Android Auto starts on my phone (Huawei P30 Pro) and the address book etc works but I do not get the Android auto on the car screen the projection button is supposed to change but when I press it it says no USB device connected.

I have tried multiple USB cables but no joy.

I have also tried setting the USB connection options on the phone to MTP but it defaults to Audio only.

Any ideas what is wrong or is my phone just not compatible?

I've had this issue with my Nokia 6.1 in my Adam, I do have the 6.1 update for Android Auto and it connects more reliably now so I would look for Android Auto updates TBH.

In the setings menu you need to enable CarPlay / AndroidAuto.
Only works on IL4.0.
Activating phone projection in the settings menu Press (house simbil) to display the home screen
and then select Settings. Scroll through the list to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
Make sure the respective application is activated.

You can tell if you have a head unit that supports Android Auto and Apple Carplay. The front on R4.0 head units have physical buttons and the R3.0 units have capacitive buttons. 2016 is the year when they first fitted the R4.0 units but if it's an early 2016 model then you probably have an R3.0 unit. The only way to get Android Auto or Apple Carplay is to swap the head unit for an R4.0 one and enable Android Auto or Apple Carplay in the settings.
