Okay so this is probably gonna sound like a silly question, but this is only the second time I've taxed a car and last year someone else sorted it I just paid.

But my tax is due on the 31st October, when I went online to see how much it would be it said if I bought it, it would start from 1st October 2014. Is that right? I guess I expected it to start the 1st November

Sure you have to get it after the 15th of the month ,
Not done it much myself but that does ring a bell 🚘🔔🚙

Wait until towards the end of the month then try it. If you do it now your have to pay from the start of this month. Think that's how it works
