Ive had my Adam for 2 and a half years now and just recently its started making a clunking noise from the front, like near the drivers wheel. Ive no idea what it could be and its only intermittent!! Sometimes from going down holes in the road and sometimes it happens out of nowhere! It's almost as if somethings trapped near the wheel but theres nothing there. Anybody else had this problem?
I have to drive 800 miles next week and I dont want it breaking down on me far from home!!

Definitely get it checked possibly check the lug nuts are tight. Other than that its probably a bushing or other rubber part that is worn so won't break just be noisy until it's replaced. I have just been driving up quite a few single tracks in Scotland last week and I'm sure I could feel a bit of a clunk in the right front.... So could be a common problem. Edited by: Dannyboy

I'm at 18,500 miles and was sure I was hearing some clunks last couple weeks from that area but put it down to fact maybe tyres are half worn and so maybe I was losing some traction. It seems to clunk for me more definitely if I turn at speed (not speeding but going good speed on a large curve of A road where you can feel your suspension working!). Will keep an eye on it now and let you know.

Hi, I had the exact same problem on my old adam for about a week, going over pot holes of speed bumps it would make a clunking noise on the drivers side, I'm not 100% what it was but i think something could have been caught in the coils of the suspension because my dad sat on the side of the car (by sat i mean he moved up and down flexing the suspension) and it just went instantly.
Although saying that after 2 years of driving it needed both shock absorbers replaced.

Hi,
I know this is an old thread and I’m some what hijacking it, however I was wondering if you ever got this sorted? Or if there is anyway to test out these theory’s before I book my car in to be checked as recently my 2013 Adam has been doing the exact same thing, and I don’t want him to break!
